Despite the ‘shaking’ at times we have the ability to look forward into the future with hope.
The church needs to be a ‘generator’ of hope and reflect on values that last forever.
Not to build little kingdoms, but a sense of hope in Christ that will last for ever.
God invites us into deep relationship that is not based on being rich, having all the earthly needs we require or being, good enough.
To follow Jesus we have to see ourselves differently – die to our old selves and be born to a new life.
A new life of generosity, trust in God, free from things that hold us back to simply receive the inheritance of love and grace on offer.
Passion compels us into action. Action that is fueled by love and not obligation, not rituals but commitment. Be careful what you say and how you use the Bible text!
Who deserves our allegiance, and what if it is sought by conflicting interests?
To be active agents of change we can only lead others as far as we ourselves have gone. We have no ability to affirm or communicate to another person that they are good or special until we know it strongly ourselves.
What do you think? Was it right for Jesus to test Philip by asking him to feed 5000 people?
