God invites us into deep relationship that is not based on being rich, having all the earthly needs we require or being, good enough.

To follow Jesus we have to see ourselves differently – die to our old selves and be born to a new life.

A new life of generosity, trust in God, free from things that hold us back to simply receive the inheritance of love and grace on offer.

We live in a society where winning and losing has a lot of importance.

Every time someone wins, then someone has to lose. However….

Jesus really flips this idea around when He talks about what things are like when we live God’s way.

God’s realm is about caring, loving, being generous and kind, these are the things of the heart.

Jesus knows no barriers of age, culture, wealth or religious status. He is in charge and his timing is perfect.
We can come to him anywhere, at any time, with our needs for ourselves or for others.
Our requests can be public or asked quietly and privately.
When we seem to be “at the end of of the rope” Jesus says, “Don’t be afraid, only believe”. Jesus gives hope to all.

God’s dream for the world, is woven into the world where we live. Some would argue we need to ‘begin again!’

Will the earth be scorched or flourish?  Might hope be found in re-creating a world of shared wealth, appreciation of other cultures, and global harmony instead of conflict, and a long term view of what makes life liveable?

Jesus offered restoration and hope in life, live differently – hope and action!

Today is not about people fighting but about fighting stuff that is spiritual.

Making us want to live well and the qualities needed as followers of Jesus.

What we need to cut through all the stuff in life that directs us away from Living the Jesus way.
