Is there more than this life? Jesus had a series of confrontations with the hierarchy about the future.
Jewish people had struggled – justice was lacking – so resurrection thinking emerged.
Resurrected people are called to love this life in the best way each one can and trust God in the life to come.

Today’s story is all about going on a long hike and what is needed.
Sometimes, as in this case, someone has gone on ahead and prepared the way so that everyone is safe and needs are met.
Today in our readings, Jesus is doing that – he has gone on ahead and prepared a place for us. What is that all about?
