23rd August, 2026 (Year A – Pentecost 13) “Seeing Jesus”

Antarctic Sunset

At this point in the Gospel Jesus asks “Who am I”.  The people were seeking a Messiah to come and solve their problems.

A series of paintings leads us to Jesus being “the other” – it leads us outside the door to engaging with different faiths and cultures.

It expands horizons to step out of our comfort of life as Jesus may take on other names.

These expand our sense of being in the world and the world of others.

INTER-GENERATIONAL TALK

We live in a world of competition….expectations of being the best at all things.

When cooking, different size pans and pots have different purposes to produce the final food item.

So in life, we are all unique and different and God loves each of us, regardless of size or shape.

When we each work together with our unique parts, God is at work and loves what we each can contribute.
