From time beginning, first nations narrative was the interconnectedness of the many nations, the interconnectedness between people, the land it is of, and the interconnectedness of the spirit existence.

In the Pasifika between the Islands, rules kept the sacredness and sovereignty alive so there was harmony across all people.

How does all this fit with Sacredness and Sovereignty in today’s thinking?

INTER-GENERATIONAL TALK

The NZ Maoris made changes in their thinking in the 1970’s so they could accommodate and continue with their sacredness and sovereignty.

They opened up their meeting places so all people could be included in their most sacred place.

The Haka also embodies all people together and in that action their sovereignty is held up for all to belong.
