27th October 2024 (Year B -Pentecost 23) “Seeing Is Believing”

James and John struggle to get the picture of what Jesus was telling them.

However Bartimaeus, even though he was blind, did get the picture.

He had faith to become part of that contingent that walked with Jesus towards Jerusalem.

Sometimes our the path to God may mean ‘turning around’ (Metanoia) and seeing things differently.

What is our purpose in life? Someone answered this way, “Its
love, isn’t it. The reason we exist is to love and be loved”

Jesus was very practical in the way he demonstrated love for the world, through all the good and bad times of his life.

Practical love, like all love is found in the big and small things in life, the good times and the bad. Seek it out.
