10th September 2023 (Year A – Pentecost 15) “Practical Love”

What is our purpose in life? Someone answered this way, “Its love, isn’t it. The reason we exist is to love and be loved”

Jesus was very practical in the way he demonstrated love for the world, through all the good and bad times of his life.

Practical love, like all love is found in the big and small things in life, the good times and the bad. Seek it out.

ALL AGE MESSAGE

SEASON OF CREATION

For the month of September, we generally include the Season of Creation, now celebrated worldwide and the brainchild of Normal Habel, a Lutheran minister based in South Australia. The Season of Creation is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through celebration, conversion, and commitment together.

During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home in the All Age message. Norman Habel saw creation as deserving a season of its own to complement Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Advent and Pentecost.  For more information, and ideas beyond simply liturgy and worship, see  www.seasonofcreation.com and www.normanhabel.com.

“Land Sunday”…the lands across our world are always changing in some way. Fires, earthquakes, floods, global warming all have an effect.

All creatures on this earth are dependent on the land for homes, food, books, medicines and most of our physical needs.

On our report card will God give us a “Fail; Need to do Better; Tries Hard or Very Good” for our care of this land.
