A new era has begun.  John is uncomfortable in baptising Jesus – someone whom he feels inferior to and should not need repentance.

In this act Jesus becomes one with us – it is more about God’s solidarity with us than it is about our repentance of sins.

Can we be confident in such a God who is with us and for us?

There is a Bike Club that starts off with clear goals -enjoy riding and encourage others to join.

But….. tensions arose and the goals seemed to have been discarded!  The goals had been forgotten.

The Bible has stories too which are like our stories, and  show us the need to be reminded of our goals and to whom we belong.
