This is exactly what Jesus would ask of us all.
Message: God eagerly awaits the Kingdom – a kingdom that would reflect God’s intuition for ‘human flourishing’ to take root in the real lived experiences of Jesus followers.
Following Jesus is not an easy choice. It may require us to make Jesus our ‘Top Priority’ and be willing to give up anything for God.
However it may not be an ‘either’ /’or’ choice but finding a balance in our commitment and making Jesus the foundation of all we are trying to do so we can say “Amen”.
Our unity is a command by Christ to embrace. It is not the name or label that counts, but the reality of showing the whole world the love we have for them and each other.
Leave prejudices and barriers
behind so the the world may see that we are indeed ‘one in Christ”
The Triune God Life is about community and relationships.
In community we discover God in mutual love and service.
In relationships we reflect the giving and receiving of love.
As we celebrate Pentecost our prayer may be that the Spirit may come and set us alight anew.
Then people will see God through us as we ‘shine’ in the world around us.
Life is a journey -we all make right and wrong decisions.
We have things in life we regret.
If there is genuine love in a relationship then there will be forgiveness.
God says to us all, “My child,
welcome back you are forgiven”.
Our society works on ‘rules for good people and punishment for bad things’. In suffering this is challenged.
In Isaiah, God says that he worked differently, persevering in faith in adversity.
In Luke the story about the bad Fig tree is challenged, but with caring and nurture, good is achieved.
Lent is a season of repentance and lament. Christians convince
themselves they are good people and of good moral perfection.
“Holiness”, is not about the absence of sin, but a significant heightened awareness of sin.
In the awareness of our frailty before God and of our sin; the more we experience God’s saving grace and the abundant generosity of God in our lives.
