Being ‘ready’ is not about constantly scanning the sky. It is living for the Lord in faithfulness and love every day. For Christ’s followers, it is about having our lives in order ready for whenever Christ comes.

In Syria we hear of all the plights of orphans and even in our own country many children and adults are left ‘alone’.

Jesus cared about His friends who would be left alone when He was gone.

Jesus left them a ‘helper’ so they would not be alone, no matter how hard the journey would be, His love would always be there.

What is our purpose in life? Someone answered this way, “Its
love, isn’t it. The reason we exist is to love and be loved”

Jesus was very practical in the way he demonstrated love for the world, through all the good and bad times of his life.

Practical love, like all love is found in the big and small things in life, the good times and the bad. Seek it out.

Being wise – as opposed to being foolish. Being prepared – as opposed to trusting our luck.

Macro view is having everything in order and just waiting for the time of the return of Christ;

Micro view is being prepared for the daily coming of the Spirit into our lives, drawing closer to God;

and those around us, focusing on the here and now to prepare for the future.

What makes a nation powerful?  God said his kingdom is comparable to a mustard seed or yeast.

In God’s kingdom something seemingly insignificant can have a big impact.

A smile, a word, a short prayer or a random act of kindness could change lives.

Small things can have a big impact!
